BLOKK
I created BLOKK’s full brand identity and website as a continuation of BRUK’s story — with its own distinct personality.

The project included developing the name, logotype, and visual identity, paired with a website built in Webflow.

BLOKK was designed as a Nordic neighborhood restaurant with seasonal menus, signature cocktails, and a lively late-night atmosphere.

The result is a bold but minimal identity, brought to life online with custom animation and a CMS structure that makes it easy for the team to update menus and drinks.
Context
BLOKK is a new restaurant and cocktail bar in Gothenburg, launched in April 2025. Building on BRUK’s focus on Nordic produce and cocktails, it positions itself as a full-scale restaurant with seasonal menus, pizza, and late-night service, alongside a stronger emphasis on rum and wine.
Scope
My role spanned the full creative and technical process, from developing the name, logotype, and visual identity to building the website in Webflow. I designed a CMS workflow that made it simple for the team to update menus and drinks, added custom animations with GSAP, and produced a tutorial video to guide them through daily updates.

Mission
The mission was to shape BLOKK as BRUK’s sister restaurant: familiar yet independent. The brand needed to capture the rawness of Nordic brutalism but still feel warm, social, and inviting. The website should reflect the atmosphere of BLOKK itself — confident, modern, and alive with rhythm, cocktails, and food.
Challenge
The main challenge was to create a brand and website entirely from scratch, ensuring that BLOKK felt connected to BRUK while standing on its own. This meant balancing a strict and minimal design language with a warm, social atmosphere, and building a CMS that could handle frequent menu updates without becoming a burden for the team.
Outcome
The result was a minimal but expressive brand system that feels connected to BRUK while standing firmly on its own.

The CMS workflow proved simple and reliable, allowing the team to update food and drink menus quickly without external help.

Feedback from both the owners and guests was strong: BLOKK felt confident, modern, and alive from day one — both physically and digitally.
